The crocodile farm was amazing! This is a small farm near here where they raise crocs for handbags, belts and other items. The belly is exported for fancy bags, but all parts are used. They raise about 12,000 crocs at a time and we went to see the feeding. It was fairly gross.

Check it out at www.lalele.co.za. The farm has an agreement with a chicken farm so they get the chicks that die there and feed them to the crocs. When I get on my own computer I'll send you a link to the photos, but believe me, it was weird seeing our host climb into the pit and fling chickens around to those scary beasts.

We followed our adventure there by going to a game farm for drinks. Game farms are big business here as animals in other areas are subject to so much poaching, that the farms in South Africa breed wild animals for other parts of Africa.

They sell the animals for millions to zoos and animal parks, but they also have lodges and game drives for guests. There was a major rugby match here so we just sat at the bar and looked out over the veldt and then returned home where Rudi set up a link from StoveTeam to South Africa and we had a late supper. The best part was that one of Rudi and Anton's cats, who has become vegetarian, just munched on an ear of corn…

Off to Johannesburg in the morning and then an afternoon flight to the Cape. I'm still in shorts and still taking my malaria meds, and we feel very confident about the stove project in South Africa, so all is well.
